गाँव के किनारे एक छोटा सा जंगल था, जहाँ शांत वातावरण रहता था। उसी गाँव में आरव नाम का एक जिज्ञासु लड़का रहता था। उसे नई-नई चीज़ें सीखने और समझने का बहुत शौक था। एक दिन उसे जंगल में जाने की तीव्र इच्छा हुई। रास्ते में उसे एक घायल पक्षी दिखाई दिया। आरव ने दया दिखाते हुए उसे धीरे से उठाया। वह उसे घर ले आया और उसका उपचार करने लगा। कुछ दिनों में पक्षी पूरी तरह स्वस्थ हो गया। आरव ने उसे खुले आकाश में उड़ने के लिए मुक्त कर दिया। पक्षी ने खुशी से चहचहाकर जैसे धन्यवाद कहा। आरव के मन में आनंद और संतोष की अनुभूति हुई। उस दिन उसने समझा कि सच्ची खुशी दूसरों की मदद करने में होती है।
